Overstock celebrates their 10th year in business today with the announcement of a ten-day online contest. The Overstock.com contest began today October 1st, 2009 at 12:01 a.m. MDT and will allow people a chance each day to win a unique and fabulous prize. These prizes are sure to generate buzz as contests hunters from all over will flock to the site each day to enter to win. Not only is this ten day contest going to spike traffic to their ecommerce website and should also result in an increase in sales for the period. There are so many bargains on Overstock that it is hard not to find something you need that is selling for a great price.

Overstock hasn’t had the best month as they received another subpoena from the Securities and Exchange Commission regarding the agency’s investigation into the online discount ecommerce retailer’s financial restatements for fiscal years 2006 through 2008. There were similar issues for the company in 2006 involving the SEC, but those investigations have been over since June 2008. In 2008, Overstock had over $800M in revenue and is continuing to gain new customers every day.
