Zugara.com released their augmented reality tool earlier this year which would allow online shoppers to virtually try on different clothing items from the convenience of their home. The rational behind this amazing and advanced tool is to increase the items purchased per customer so that the sales of an online retailer can be easily increased. Tobi.com is the first retailer to test out the tool dubbed Fashionista, from Rich Relevance, a San Francisco-based developer of product-recommendation tools for ecommerce sites. Rich Relevance developed it in conjunction with augmented reality specialists Zugara.com to give their ecommerce partners more tools to try and capture sales and increase items purchased per customer.

Improving the complicated process of buying clothes online and helping customers feel more confident that the items will fit is why this tool looks to gain more attention in the coming months. Ecommerce retailers are constantly looking for ways to improve the efficiency of their storefront and this one of a kind tool is almost guaranteed to help sales. Now customers of Tobi.com and other shops using the Fashionista tool will no longer have to worry if the clothing matches their skin color or looks flattering on their figure. For now it is geared specifically towards women, but technically can be used for any customer if they want. The coolest part of the tool is that users can give a thumbs up or down to each item which will allow the tool to recommend other outfits that match their preferences. Now customers will already have all of their favorite finds with thumbs up ratings in their shopping cart so they can quickly check out. Ecommerce retailers will continue to watch this company and tool to see how successful it becomes.
