Google is, without a doubt, the best search engine on the Internet, although they sometimes go a bit crazy with some of their ecommerce related ideas. For instance, it is one thing to sell t-shirts or hats with the Google logo or even the YouTube logo, but now they have decided to start selling unique Google-inspired items that were based upon emerging designer creations. The Vogue and Council of Fashion Designer program held an event where designers were asked to create original designs that reflected upon Google. Now, from those designs, Google is selling 4 different items in their ecommerce store that are extremely expensive, and it does not seem clear if they will really sell many of these, or if there is a real demand for designer Google items. Below is a list of the four designer items that you can now purchase, if you have the extra disposable income to give to a multi-billion dollar company.
Old Fashioned Magnifying Glass Pendant by Waris: The name Google was derived from the word googol which represents a 1 with 100 zeros after it. So to give recognition to Google, this Pendant has a chain with 100 links. The cost for this very unique pendant is $200.
Oversize Knit Scarf in Google colors by Ohne Titel: This oversize scarf represents Google by using their color palette on this unique creation which retails for $300.
Men’s Peace “Vintage” Inspired T Shirt by Gary Graham & Ladies Peace “Vintage” Inspired T Shirt by Gary Graham: Retailing for $85, consumers can buy a Men’s or Women’s T-shirt which showcases the Google map point and search results graphic
Now that Google has moved into selling these designer items, people can only wonder what Google inspired creation the search giant could begin selling next. The company is so large that it has the potential to get into so many markets and sell almost anything it wants from their ecommerce storefront. Keep checking the Google ecommerce store as you never know what they will try and sell next. Maybe they will try a Google themed pre-manufactured house where every thing is designed with the Google aura in mind.
