Death of Alexander McQueen Drives Online Sales at Ebay

The death of Alexander McQueen in London on Thursday is suspected to be a suicide, but there has been no official report on the cause of death from the police. Everyone in the fashion industry is mourning the loss as he has been a designer to the stars for over 10 years, and his new line was scheduled to debut this week, but it was canceled due to his death. People have been buzzing on Twitter about the untimely death, including celebrities who are tweeting their thoughts about the untimely passing. Within hours of the death of Alexander McQueen, there were dozens of his items going up for sale on ecommerce auction site Ebay. Most of the items listed so far are clothing, but there a few random high priced domains with Alexander McQueen’s name in them that people are trying to sell. Some of the more popular items which he was known for are dresses and tailored jackets, which correspond to much of what is up for sale on Ebay right now. There are also many vintage and one of a kind fashion creations by Alexander McQueen up for sale on Ebay right now, with more items expected to go up for sale throughout the next few weeks.

Over the last year, there have been many celebrity deaths and typically Ebay becomes flooded with various autographed items from the celebrity. However in this case it is all about the fashion, and it seems that people only are concerned with getting their hands on his designer Alexander McQueen creations. Many consumers are selling off clothes found deep in their closet in memorial of the designer, while others are choosing to keep what they have for both its fine fashion and new value.
