Sample sale ecommerce sites have been gaining in popularity across the U.S. and Europe, with most requiring a free membership to get access to the exclusive bargains and deals. New ecommerce site, MyNines, is looking to aggregate the sample sale site niche into one private marketplace. However MyNines currently only aggregates from 14 different sample sale sites, most of which are in the fashion niche. It is expected that they will increase their partner list in 2010, but it is unclear if many of the top sites they lack now will join. Ecommerce sample sale sites like Rue La La, Gilt Groupe, and Ideeli all have a brand with their own private shopping experience. Farming out their exclusive sample sale products to aggregation sites may devalue their brand and take away from the allure that an private shopping site strives to achieve.

Currently the product selection is heavily skewed towards women’s clothing, which mimics the trend we see among the leading sample sale ecommerce sites in the marketplace. Men have little to choose from on the site, and there are even fewer products for the kids, home and lifestyle categories. This ecommerce model is a great idea if MyNines can forge enough partnerships with the leading sample sale sites, as women love to shop for online deals and welcome anything that can speed up the process. Why not head over to MyNines and see what all the buzz is about, maybe you can find a deal from one of the designer brands.
