Will New Zienette.com Online Campaign Drive Ecommerce Sales?

Zientte.com is trying to go all out with a new online campaign, which comes with a redesigned ecommerce store and a new social media push on Twitter and Facebook. They already have over a dozen stores in six different countries, and this new ecommerce website should yield long term success for Zientte. However there are simple things that the brand is not doing now for Facebook and Twitter, that would elevate their social media strategy and increase sales. It is great that they took the step to make social media top of mind, by adding Twitter and Facebook buttons to their homepage, but the efforts by Zientte could benefit from some tweaking. The brand focuses on selling modern and contemporary furniture, but the vibe of their Facebook and Twitter presence does not reflect the brand. As of now it is unlikley that the social media efforts from Zientte will drive many online sales, but if they make some small improvements they could yield great results.

Below are some social media tips for Zientte to use on their Facebook and Twitter pages, to make things more engaging and ultimately increase their return on investment from these channels. If you are an ecommerce company trying to build a brand for yourself through social media, consider the following steps as well.

Facebook Fanpage Suggestions

Create a resource for those interested in modern and contemporary furniture. Add more coverage of the industry and designers. Tie this activity to Twitter.

Make a way for users to browse products on the Facebook fanpage. Try partnering with a company from in the Facebook Preferred Developer Consultant Program.

Take advantage of the profile image with a better design to reflect the Zientte brand. Facebook fanpage profile images can have a maximum size of 200×600 pixels.

Make a custom welcome page for visitors to the Zientte Facebook fanpage which are not fans. Use the Static FBML tool (Facebook Markup Language) to customize a page and default it as the welcome page for those new visitors.

Twitter Suggestions

Make the tweets more relevant, by letting users know what the links you post are about. Right now there are many links tweeted without any info.

Trying tweeting when items go on sale, or when new items come into stock to drive more users to the Zientte website.

Utilize the entire landscape for the Twitter background to showcase the Zientte brand, and examples of modern and contemporary furniture in stock.

Make a few Twitter lists of people or publications involved in modern and contemporary furniture so your followers can see what inspires the Zientte brand.
