Canon U.S.A. has long been known for their quality line of products which include digital cameras, camcorders, printers, scanners, and binoculars. In order to give consumers the best website experience possible, Canon decided to launch a new redesigned site and improved ecommerce experience. This new site is very user-friendly and has a much more intuitive layout which makes it easier to navigate around to find the exact products you desire. Additionally they improved the search functionality to provide better results, and made major upgrades to their product comparison tool which has smooth drag and drop functionality. Canon recognized that today consumers and business owners are much savvier, and utilize the Internet as their go to source for research on products before they purchase from an ecommerce store. Now with their improved site, they should be able to provide consumers with everything they need to make informed decisions before checking out of their online shopping cart.
Overall the new Canon site is much more focused on ecommerce efforts, as they clearly display “Buy Now” buttons in the search results and the product comparison tool. They also do a good job of cross-selling by providing additional product accessories and solutions to the consumer within the product pages. Many consumers choose to research and buy their Canon products elsewhere at online retailers like Amazon.com, but this new website and improved ecommerce experience from Canon should bring more consumers into their site to review the products. This new website comes at a perfect time as Canon is expected to release the new EOS 60D digital SLR camera in the very near future.

Between me and my friend we’ve purchased more cameras over the months than I can count, including many different Samsungs, Sonys, Canons and many more models. However, the last few weeks I’ve settled down to one line of digital cameras. Why? Ofcourse I was happy to take take notice of how well-designed and fun the often overlooked (and widely mocked) Canon EOS Rebel T2 actually is.
