Online Auction For SAG Awards Seats

The 17th annual Screen Actors Guild Awards is hosting an online auction to sell off a number of Red Carpet Fan Bleacher Seats now through Jan. 10. This will count as auction number two, in a series of three auctions, that will be selling off 90 seats from which fans can gawk at their favorite stars walking the red carpet, take pictures and beg for autographs.

The third auction, known as the Ceremony Auction, will begin Jan. 27 and close Jan. 31. This auction will focus on the nominated actors, ensembles, and will include items and experiences from entertainment news outlets, including “E! News” “Entertainment Tonight,” “Extra,” and TV Guide Network. In years past the auction has included autographed scripts and posters, along with a number of wardrobe and props, and even visits to studios and sets.

The auction will also be putting SAG memorabilia, including tote bags, hats and this year’s production team gift, up for bid. To build the suspense and gain attention, additional SAG related items will be announced throughout the month.

Proceeds for the SAG Awards Auctions benefit the SAG Foundation’s attempt to bring their public children’s literacy programs (BookPALS [Performing Artists for Literacy in Schools]) to fruition. The auction will also support the Foundation’s numerous other programs that provide emergency relief to SAG members in economic distress, video and audio preservation of the creative legacy of SAG members. scholarships for performers and their children, emergency funds for members with catastrophic illnesses and the Actor’s Center.

The Red Carpet Bleacher auction will feature 15 sets of two seats and 15 sets of four seats. Current bids range from $30 to $325.

The Screen Actors Guild Awards auction to benefit the SAG Foundation is managed by Clothes Off Our Back at and the Screen Actors Guild Awards.
