Hi, my name is Jack Cieslak. I’m the SEO Content Marketing Manager here at Zippycart. We set up this page and the form below to tell you about a new content campaign that we’re super-excited about: Guest Blogger Monday!
Please read this entire page (you can tell when I’m being serious when I use bold lettering). The submission form is at the bottom (don’t just skip all this and go to the bottom).
Monday is the start of the week. It’s a huge news day for everyone. We started our new Guest Blogger Monday promotion to give you a chance to be out on the cutting edge of our weekly news coverage.
In order to help this promotion run as smoothly as possible, we just wanted to let you all know some important details that we’ll be stressing to make sure that content is uniform and that we can integrate it into our system quickly and efficiently.
For starters there are no major topic restrictions. Pretty much anything ecommerce-related goes. If you’ve blogged for us in the past, then you generally know what we’re about. If you really want to blog and don’t have a topic in mind, check out some of our past Guest Authors here.
Our preferred spelling of “ecommerce” is with all lower case in the middle of a sentence. We capitalize the “E” when using it in a title, subheading, or beginning of a sentence.
Please use the form at the bottom of this page to submit your guest blog post. Make sure to fill in all the forms.
Make sure that the piece is formatted as you wish to see it online (paragraph and line breaks, bolded subject headings, etc.).
Please include an image (or 2 or 3, if you want a more visually dynamic piece) to accompany your post. This can be a shot of the writer, corporate logo, or any other image you think goes with your article. The maximum allowable width for all images is 400 pixels. The image will always go in the upper left portion of the article. Please obey all copyright laws (that should go without saying, but, you know, I said it anyway).
If you wish to embed a video, please make sure that the pre-set maximum width is 400 pixels.
Please include a bio with company description/history in the appropriate field. Two to three sentences max.
Please include one link back to your blog, homepage, or product promotion page with your preferred anchor text within the bio/history field. Link out in the body of your post only where appropriate (links to a company you are writing about, a page on wikipedia, etc are OK), but note that we may edit this at any time. Your bio is the best place to advertise your service/self and get a back link and you will have a much better chance of getting published if you restrict it to just one link in the bio. Do not use this service to write spam, we will delete it.
If you are writing to promote your shopping cart or an ecommerce product of any kind and you have an affiliate program, please do us a huge favor and contact Nick Grant at firstname.lastname@example.org so that he can get us all set up. We will then position the affiliate link a few times within the text (as appropriate) and include your preferred link in the bio/history section at the end of the post.
We will be running this promotion on every Monday except for national/federal US holidays (in which case all posts will go live on Tuesday) for the foreseeable future.
Submissions will be posted in the order in which they are received. As soon as your content is approved we will e-mail you with the date it is expected to go live.
As the program starts ramping up we will be featuring one blogger per Monday, but that could change. Get your content in early and reserve your spot!
As with all of our news blog posts, we will be promoting Guest Blogger Monday through our Facebook and Twitter accounts. On Twitter we will be using the hashtag “#guestbloggermonday.” If you want to help us in our efforts by promoting and retweeting our posts, that will only help boost your own visibility down the road when you have your own guest blog post up on Zippycart. We will be sending you out a unique url when your post is set to go live. Promoting it through your own PR channels will only help our combined efforts.
We’ll give your submission a final once over. We will make any minor spelling or grammar corrections we deem necessary. Major factual or structural editing suggestions will come directly from me or a member of the content team via e-mail. The earlier you submit your piece, the smoother the editing process will be.
I’ve tried to make these guidelines as thorough as possible, but if you have any questions about this new promotion, please e-mail me immediately at email@example.com and I’ll do my best to get back to you ASAP.
Thanks again for your interest in blogging for us! I look forward to working with you in the future.
