with Mal’s, it doesn’t matter – basically you get a user ID, and that’s what gets things into *your* account. Then you slap some customizable code wherever you want, however often you want onto your site, and bam – your site is a shopping cart. It’s pretty nice, actually. Now, you must remember though – Mal’s allows unlimited items in your cart… but only if they are physical items. If they are downloadables, you are limited to 50 – then you have to upgrade your account. This is why it worked so well for my client – it was a site for a brick-and-mortar shop he runs – he just wanted to have online sales in addition to the regular ones.

They offer free ecommerce webstores with instant account activation. They have an impressive 145,000 web stores registered so far and it is 100% ad free. The e commerce carts are simple to use and uploading products to sell is easy. Free sub-domain and hosting. Simple Paypal and Google checkout integration, customizable templates and cheap paid upgrade available. Most templates cost a ton of money though... they aren't all free.

I use Mal's on my website and have for 5+ years. I adore them and it's free. Visit my site www.butterfly-gifts.com and you can see the order buttons and how customizable the cart is. I had satellite internet and had some problems accessing my cart one day, and Mal himself answered my email (turned out to be my satellite and not his cart). i highly recommend it to everyone.

I have been using Mal's ecommerce shopping cart (http://www.Mal's-e.com/) for 2 years and I have found it any excellent free shopping cart. I have set up several shops on my shopping site all using using Mal's shopping cart. (http://www.coastshop.com.au)
It is highly customizable - such as different shipping methods, multi-level descriptions. The only limitation is integration of payment merchant options - it does integrate with several credit card merchants, but none that I can use in Australia (except PayPal)
The cart set up is easy and it is mostly done on Mal's ecommerce site. Therefore you do not need to be a HTML expert (but you do need some knowledge of HTML to insert your product descriptions, prices, etc)
