My ex-wife is an eBay Power Seller. She sells jewelry among other things. But for the past year she has been complaining about eBay, because they have made life very difficult for sellers. I kept looking for an answer for her and I’ve found one with Vendio. They help you build a store online on the web and then they push your items over to eBay and Amazon. This is a MUCH better approach long term for people who want to build permanent stores, like my ex-wife does. This way you are in control, not Amazon or eBay

I have been around the block enough times that it takes a fair bit to get me excited. I have learned to always take every opportunity to listen, even if it is something I don’t think will apply to me, my business, or my lifestyle because I am so often pleasantly surprised to learn something new.

The Vendio Stores platform was one of those serendipitous moments and I have a feeling, as it progresses through beta into final release form it is going to change the way a lot of small businesses operate for the better.

There have always been merchant solutions for the big boys, ChannelAdvisor, Infopia etc. Finally a provider has seen the immense potential for growth in servicing small to medium size business without wearing the channel specific blinders so prevalent in today’s marketplace.

Vendio has a long history as a third party software and applications developer and is a familiar company to eBay sellers. The work that has obviously gone into this multi-channel solution is very apparent and indicates a long standing understanding about how merchants, especially eBay merchants, work to get product online.

Usability: I give it a 8 on a scale of 10

Functionality: I say 9 on a scale of 10

Intimidation Factor: 3 on a scale of 10

The Vendio platform may indeed be the light at the end of a long tunnel for many eBay merchants, especially if they have not yet expanded beyond eBay to sell on other channels or on their own web store.

If you are an experienced eBay seller, this Vendio Platform solution will give you the confidence to go forth and find new markets, to boldly go into the ecommerce world – feet first, while knowing that you will have familiar surroundings and procedures available at all times. No need to leave the comfortable blanket that is eBay or the traffic the megasite produces, yet with the Vendio Platform tools, new markets await that may help you to see beyond the eBay safety net. Expanding into multi-channel ecommerce is the next logical step for any eBay merchant.

The software has been extremely well thought out, it is apparent that years of development work went into this package. And the prior experience with an eBay focused offering shows through here.

I am not an eBay seller, nor someone who uses Amazon, but I am someone who sells artwork and needed an online store that wouldn't gouge me on transaction fees. When I found Vendio, I was relieved because they don't charge transaction fees at all. There were so many templates to choose from that I was able to find one that closely matched my existing website and then easily tweak it to fully match my site... but after all that work, I realized that I no longer needed my existing site and could just use Vendio as a full content management system to host and manage my entire site. Now I pay nothing for hosting because my whole site is on the vendio platform. I'm considering taking advantage of marketplaces, because it would be great to see my artwork on Amazon and eBay, but if I do that I'll only be paying $10/mo, which is what I paid for hosting, so it's a win win all around. What a great solution!
