AmeriCommerce Customer Reviews: Overview

americommerce reviewAmeriCommerce is known for a variety of great features, their multi-store functionality, remote carting, and more, but one of the things they are most widely known for is great customer service. AmeriCommerce may not offer 24/7 phone support, but this is because their dedicated support staff is highly knowledgable, skilled in HTML/CSS, and has intimate knowledge of the AmeriCommerce ecommerce suite. To ensure that merchants get the attention they deserve from a staff that genuinely cares about their product, AmeriCommerce provides in-house support from 8am to 6pm via phone and live chat, rather than hiring a call center to handle issues 24/7. AmeriCommerce also works with merchants to create custom solutions, if their ecommerce software doesn't already have the capabilities a merchant needs. If the merchant is requesting something that all AmeriCommerce merchants will benefit from, then AmeriCommerce will work to add the feature to their suite for everyone using their storefront solution. These are just a few of the aspects about AmeriCommerce that customers rave about, and a huge reason AmeriCommerce earned a customer score of 4.44 out of 5. High quality is what first comes to mind when I think of Americommerce from support service, ease of use of the backend, willingness to help to ecommerce capabilities. It's a shame that a few people who probably aren't computer friendly have to rip on a company that is solid in all areas. I would definitely recommend Americommerce to others and I already have. Great work Americommere!

We have been using Americommerce to power several stores for over one year. I am truly impressed with the depth of features it offers, but also allows for very rapid setup of basic stores if that is all you require.

The feature set is continually updated and our expectations have been exceeded with regard to keeping the software fresh and supported.

Americommerce offers so many options for store settings in its software that sometimes you feel like this was a custom piece of software written for you.

I would recommend this most to users who are familiar with eCommerce and store operations. You can be a novice and make it work, but to really take advantage of the power, it helps to have a strong understanding of IT/Marketing if you want to do it all yourself.

Our first two websites went live on AC on October 1 and our third at the time went live a month later. Our switchover was very smooth. We had no downtime, no snags, and we did not lose our placement on Google. It took us 9 months altogether to move products and gift registries, then iron out bugs and do full testing, but once we went live it was very smooth and made the 9 months of preparation worth it.

We did not transfer customer data except as required for gift registries. There may have been a faster way, but we did them by hand to be absolutely sure everything, including passwords for customers to access their accounts, transferred. We did over 200 of these by hand. Most of these customers didn't even realize we'd switched carts. (I hired an office worker in India to do these for us.)

Definately use the URL Redirecting for every single product and page that you have. I knew a friend who moved her cart (not to AC) and "didn't have time" to use the URL redirect service. She lost 80% of her business overnight and it never fully recovered. That was a few months before my own switch and was part of why we took so long. Our Indian office worker did these for us as well since it was a slow plug & chug process. At least back then...might be a faster way now.

Do not shut down your old site. Leave it up. When the DNS propagates, you may get orders from both sites for a couple of days but this way your site is never down. some customers will see the old site, some will see the new. You want both functional during this time.

I continued to pay hosting fees at my old shopping cart for a full year after our switch. This way I had access to all the original sales orders just in case. We did access them several times for customers throughout the year, so it was worth paying the fees even without using the service.

I spent about a month trying to find the right ecommerce solution to power my online store, and am really happy that I decided to go with Americommerce. Using Americommerce was hard at first, but then once I got comfortable I feel in love with how robust the software is and all the cool features!!!

I have been running my online store with Americommerce for about a year, and continue to be impressed with their customer service and all of the super neat features that help me to be successful. I tried out free trials at other companies like Volusion and 3dcart, but found Americommerce was the best one in my opinion.

Our company switched to AmeriCommerce 2 1/2 years ago. The reason we switched was for their multiple-storefront feature...you can run several different stores from the same admin panel and all stores will pull from a single inventory. This was amazing for us since we run 5 stores and keeping up with inventory on our old shopping carts was a huge hassle. AmeriCommerce saves us time, is more streamlined for interacting with our customers, and has some great SEO features. They have excellent technical support and they are constantly adding new features and upgrading old features. The biggest drawback is that AmeriCommerce is fairly technical. It's probably not a good solution for a beginner and was difficult for me, an experienced though non-techie web store owner.

When we moved to AmeriCommerce, we were looking for a cart that would work with Wordpress, but still have all the features we needed. AmeriCommerce had the best API of any shopping cart solution that we've found. It helped us insert shopping cart smarts into various sections of our sites without ever having to host andy of the UI.

It's so easy to talk to them about any needs you have. It's a pleasure. Instead of talking to random customer service agents who basically give scripted responses, knowledgable people pick up the phone and are often sitting right next to a developer who can help.

I can't think of anything that we tried to do and couldn't with AMeriCommerce, and if we found something blocking us, a simple call into AmeriCommerce did the trick.

AmeriCommerce has a lot of great features, but sometimes finding them is like finding a needle in a haystack. If you look at their feature list, you might think "oh crud, they don't have x, y, or z," but it's actually likely that they do have it, and they just don't mention it on their site. I suggest using their free trial, but plan on intensly using it. AmeriCommerce does not have the easiest to use admin panel on the block. I'm not sure if 2 weeks is enough time to learn everything because I've used them for a year and am still discovering features that I didn't know existed. If you're up for the learning curve, they are well worth it, but there is a learning curve, there's no ignoring that.

I have a day job that keeps me working until sometimes 7 at night. When I come home, I want to decompress before hopping online and checking out my online store. Since AmeriCommerce doesn't offer support after 8pm, I can't do this. I'm not technically savvy, so I often need suport (any normal person probably wouldn't, but I'm worse than my grandma!). As such, I had to leave AmeriCommerce and move to something more geared toward a beginner merchant who sells just a few products. I didn't need all of the bells and whistles of AmeriCommerce, but maybe if I could have spoken to someone at night, I would have learned how to use their software and stayed.

I'm not kidding, I don't like people who don't like AmeriCommerce. These guys are great! I feel so in control of my brand and have found a great community of people willing to help whenever a hiccup arises. This company helped me get to where I needed to be to quit my job in a rough economy and keep making money!

You know what I love about AmeriCommerce that nobody seems to mention? You can sell subscriptions with AmeriCommerce. That's not something you can do with too many other hosted shopping carts. Sure, you can sell downloadable products/coupons codes/etc with others, but selling subscriptions is a great additional feature that is a huge necessity in today's ecommerce landscape. As the world of ecommerce evolves, so does AmeriCommerce, and I'm happy that I'll be a merchant riding that evolutionary wave.

Honestly, I don't know how they could make their user interface any easier, because there are so many amazing features, that it seems impossible to organize. I like you just the way you are AmeriCommerce.
