BigCommerce has been the best solution and I have expanded to 3 sites that run on BigCommerce. BigCommerce offers great technical support and a very active user community that's constantly helping the BigCommerce staff improve their product. Better yet, BigCommerce offers a free 15 day trial of their shopping cart without needed any payment information.

BigCommerce is based on the Interspire e-commerce software system -- it's their hosted version. It's a nice shopping cart, but not as easy to template in my experience and is definitely more complicated than Shopify. That's both good and bad... it has a lot of features Shopify lacks, but is more cumbersome and complicated as a result.

Sometimes a readymade cart comes along that can compete with the big players in the industry. This time it's the Big Commerce shopping cart solution. Big Commerce offers a lot of neat out-of-the-box features like zoom capabilities on the product images, email marketing management, and mobile commerce connections. The features are big and extremely awesome.
Is Big Commerce right for your product? Probably. They offer custom templates and an interface that's surprisingly simple to be updated with new designs.

I started to see a lot of press about BigCommerce, so decided to try opening up one of my new online stores with them. At first things were ok, but overtime I have become more frustrated in dealing with their customer service. There are also a few features which it lacks, that I recently found out that other carts have for about the same price.

I have like 0 skills when it comes to CSS and HTML, so I was pretty happy when I found out how easy BigCommerce was to use. Been running my online store for almost 6 months and everything seems ok so far. I am still new to ecommerce, so do not know too well if BigCommerce is lacking something that would help me be even more successful.

I read a bunch of reviews before signing up for this ecommerce software, but my favorite one was from Interspire themselves: If your 80 year old grandma can't use it, then it's too hard! My 80 year old grandma can barely see, but the point still hits home. This cart is so easy to use it's crazy! I highly recommend it for anyone just starting out and even for mid to large sized online stores. I'll give this cart a 5 out of 5 any day!

I'm not gonna lie, I thought that BigCommerce was a little too over pitched. You know what I mean? Too many people were talking about it like its awesome or something and I didn't think it could be that good. Kinda like the movie Twilight... I hated that movie, but all the reviews and hysteria made me think it'd be worth watching. Well, take this as a compliment to BigCommerce - it's not Twilight. It's seriously a good ecommerce platform! It's affordable, easy to use, and has a real intuitive interface for merchants and customers alike. I'm so happy I moved my store from OScommerce to this! Now if I could only get the 2.5 hours of my life back from Twilight. Anyone know who I see about that?

I love the price of this software, but since its a hosted cart, there are some big limitations for a techy like me. I want to delve into the code and really make this my own, but I can't. I guess I should've known considering (again) that it's a hosted cart. I'm going to switch back to 3D Cart since I already own the licensing and can really get my hands dirty with it. This isn't to say anything too bad about BigCommerce, just that its for starters a lot more than someone like me who has a background in development.

My only complaint: You have to use 3rd party payment gateways on this, none come with the monthly membership to the BigCommerce software suite.
