As I've gotten some experience with the NSCommerce system I've been impressed. Perhaps that is because I have such low expectations based on my experience with other ecommerce packages, but NSCommerce comes very, very close to being what an out-of-the-box, hosted ecommerce system should be. It's relatively inexpensive, fully integrated with a merchant gateway, provides an easy to use interface, integrates well with Google Base, and has decent SEO tools built in.

Customers don't want to spend too much time online once they figure out what they want to buy. NS has the poorest after hours service and dealing with these sub standard outsource reps who do not understand english is infuriating! We pay for 24 hours service - what these clowns give is not service !
I would like to see who deals with NS site when it goes down in the wee hours of the morning...I am sure it is not these clowns!

I tested it out for a bit, but ultimately it just did not cut it for me. I had a few issues trying to work with customer service and get answers, so after a bit I just gave up and went with another ecom solution.

The 24/7 customer support feature with Network Solutions "E-Commerce Web Sites" was all I needed to see to decide to use them. I'm glad I went on that fact alone because I have heard some horror stories about other shopping cart software. The main problem though is that when you talk to the tech team, you are clearly talking to a tech person. Yes, that sounds redundant, what I mean is that they don't really understand how urgent your issue is because for them its all about finding a bug and fixing it but with me as a retailer its about hitting that magic button that just makes everything work. So patience is needed sometimes when speaking to them, but if you get persistent, they do not push back and will pick up the pace when working with you.

Network Solutions obviously believes in their product since they usually offer a money back guarantee if you are unhappy. They also don't gouge you in other ways - transaction fees and things like that. So in the end, they get my confidence.

I sprung for the Pro package and even paid extra for them to custom design my site. It looks beautiful and my customers must love it because my sales have almost doubled!

Integration with Quickbooks POS can be a bit tricky and at first didn't even work at all, this is because I went over their "product limit". If you have over 5000 products in your store, then consider a different solution because Network Solutions isn't it.

I don't have any problems integrating with Quickbooks, but a friend told me that this was an issue with earlier versions of this shopping cart. I think that they've fixed the bug because my online store works perfectly with Quickbooks and I haven't had a problem since I started using Network Solutions in December of 2008.

Honestly, I was pretty concerned when my business partner chose Network Solutions over X-Cart, which was what I wanted to go with. We'll still test out X-Cart for a future site just to compare, but I can say without a doubt that Network Solutions hasn't failed me at all as a shopping cart. They have great features, easy to contact customer support, and slick shopping cart designs.

Great features and telephone support 24/7. It's worth the investment. Search and browse helped me better understand what products I should feature. PayPal integration helps my customers feel safe when making a purchase. Product reviews help me understand what I can improve on. This is more than a shopping cart its a complete ecommerce e-tail solution.
